Junior Coaches

We are very excited to announce our Playworks junior coaches for this school year! These 4th-5th grade students are out during lunch recess to leap group games on the playground, solve conflicts with ro-sham-bo and reflect as a squad and learn to lead with respect and inclusion. Congratulations to the following: Sawyer C., Weston B., Noelle T., Katherine H., Ruth B., Riggs C., Jacob W., Ibrahim K., Van H., Alice M., Ella O., Jane T., Ella S., Milo D., Ukiah K., Malia W., Liam B., Fisher M., Kinshuk A., Liam S.

Drop Off Reminder

Parents, when you are dropping your student off at school they can exit the vehicle as soon as they have reached the curb/sidewalk area. As soon as your car comes to a stop, regardless of how far forward you are, students can leave the vehicle. Please do not wait to the front of the line to have them exit. It allows for much better traffic flow if we have multiple exiting areas. We appreciate you helping in making this a better process for all.

Red Flag Days

We’ve had a few red flag days this year, but thought we’d remind you of the red flag policy as stipulated from our School Community Council.

We have purchased new larger red flags that are much more visible. They will be placed near office doors, one in between 1st grade and kindergarten playground, and another at the rear of the building.

Red flags will be put out under the following circumstances:

If the “feels like” temperature outside is 23 degrees or less. We use the weatherbug app, in Sandy Utah, to find this information.

If it is raining/snowing heavily/consistently.

If the air quality is in an unhealthy rage. This will happen if the Utah department of environmental quality had issued it as an “unhealthy” day. To see these standards/information you can go to http://air.utah.gov

When students see a red flag before school that means it’s an indoor day. They can enter the school or portables starting at 8 am. (unless they are going to breakfast. Breakfast students can enter starting at 7:45 am)

If the weather/air quality changes during the day to allow for outdoor recess. An announcement is made into the classrooms to the staff/students and they can go outside for recess the remainder of the day.

Lunch Payment Reminder

As a reminder, payments to your students lunch account are not done through Skyward Family Access. If you have questions on how to do this, please reach out to the office.

Winter Break Dates

Winter Break this year will be from December 19th – January 2nd.
