Greetings!!! We are very excited to announce the return of Sunrise Elementary Orchestra! Your teacher, Peg Stewart, is looking forward to helping you learn while having fun! Please contact her with any questions you may have.
– Classes will be begin 02/03/2020, two times per week, Miss Peg will verify class days/time with you
– Classes conducted in the KIVA
– Mondays and Thursdays (combined class) 7:30 to 8:15 – Students with no or minimal experience
- Tuesdays and Thursdays (combined class) 7:30 to 8:15 – Students with experience
- All students will use ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS for STRINGS, BOOK I (cost $8-11)
Parents/Guardians will be responsible for transportation. All students will bring their own instruments, which are not included in tuition. Instruments may be rented or purchased from several local vendors at a reasonable rate. Vendors often offer insurance for their products. Some orchestra instruments may be available for rent from the school for an additional fee. Please check with the orchestra teacher for availability. School instrument cost is $40 for the Feb thru May 2020 period. Given that instruments are very fragile, your teacher will go over proper care of the instruments. School rental fee DOES NOT cover damage to a school owned instrument caused by student neglect. No refunds are available on rental fees for students who do not remain in the program the full school year.
*For an enjoyable learning experience, it is recommended instruments not be purchased though the Internet. You may receive a lesser quality instrument with poor acoustics and disposable, hard to replace, parts.
**No need to purchase a shoulder rest at this time.
Tuition is $90.00 (or four payments of $22.50/first of each month) for Feb-May 2020 session. Full tuition due March 1, 2020, unless monthly pmts are set up. Eligible students may apply for a “fee waiver” to cover the tuition; however, fee waivers do not cover instrument rental or book. Students on Free or Reduced lunch must fill out a separate fee waiver application for this program each year. Fee waiver is attached and due before classes begin.
