Red Ribbon Week

Monday October 31st – November 4th our PTA is sponsoring our Red Ribbon Week. Please see the attached flyer with information on how your student can participate!

Book Blitz –FORMS DUE

Canyons School District has started a new program called Book Blitz Jr. This is an optional reading program for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders and it is designed to encourage students to read a variety of literature. Students should read at least 6 books from a list of 12 books by March 1, 2023. Then they will form teams of 3-5 members and participate in a “Jeopardy-style” competition to demonstrate their knowledge of the books. 4th and 5th graders are combined and read the same books and 3rd graders have a separate list of 12 books. We will have meetings after school on select Mondays from November – March to help students prepare for the competition. We are really excited about this program and it should be lots of fun!

Book Blitz forms are due this Friday, Nov. 4th! If you cannot find the form, e-mail Lindsay Humphrey at zeepingree@gmail.com to sign up your student. We would love to have more students join!

Parking Lot Tip

When waiting in the pick-up/drop off lane, please remember to keep the access to the employee parking lot area open. If there is a car attempting to exit, please be courteous and allow them to exit. We appreciate it!

Parent Square – Main Communication

Parents, this is a reminder that as of TODAY parent square is our primary form of communication for our school. All newsletters and other information sent out to our community will be done using this program. We HIGHLY encourage our parents to use the app on their phone to ensure messages are getting to you in a timely fashion.

Our web site will also continue to be updated often with helpful information on activities/events.

Upcoming Items

Thanksgiving Break: The Thanksgiving Break this year will be November 23- 25th. There will be no school on these days.

PTA Canned Food Drive: The PTA will be sponsoring a canned food drive with the local food bank. More information will be forthcoming on when to have your student bring it in. So now would be a good time to purchase an extra can or two to be ready!
