Retirement Open House
Pat Ward (3rd Grade) and Carolyn Brooks (4th Grade) are retiring this year, after many years of dedicated service as Sunrise teachers! As part of their retirement gift from the school, we are collecting letters from their current and past students and families to put together a book for each of them! Letters should be handwritten or typed out and printed, and can be turned in to the front office. Letters must be submitted by Friday May 12th. Please be sure that your submissions are clearly labeled with the teacher’s name!
We are also having an open house and all are welcome to come! Invitation is attached to this newsletter.
FUN RUN- This Week!
Our PTA is doing their annual Fun Run this week on April 27th from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm here at Sunrise Elementary. There will be races, concessions, and a silent auction! Every student that runs the race will be given a popsicle. Fundraising envelopes were sent home with students last week, please check their backpack/folder and make sure your student brings back the signed form to their teacher! See attached flyer for more information. We hope to see you there!
Great Utah Shake Out
Our staff & students participated in the Great Utah Shake Out on April 20th at 10 am. Directions were given on what they should do, students heard noises simulating an earthquake and did a practice evacuation to safety outside. This drill is practiced every year here at school and we encourage parents to talk about it with their student and to create a safety plan for home as well. It’s always great to be prepared! Bus Driver Appreciation
Tuesday April 25th is bus driver appreciation day! We are very grateful for our driver Carla who safely drives our students to and from school every day! And also, for the MANY drivers who take our students to and from their field trips. They are unsung heroes and we hope you’ll take time to thank them on this special day!
Learning Environment Forms
Parents who would like to offer input on class placement for the 2023-24 school year can choose to fill out a Learning Environment form. This form is attached to the newsletter and also available at the school office.
They must be turned in no later than Wednesday May 10th.
