Sunrise Elementary School Eagles see themselves as learners who own their learning. They know where they are now and where they need to go next to master skills. Sunrise houses Canyons School District’s Gifted and Talented Program Supporting Advanced Learners Towards Achievement (SALTA).
Mission Statement: Sunrise empowers a collaborative culture where all learners are problem solvers.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS
- 85% of Kinder will be at or above benchmark on NWF/CLS according to ALO testing, by Spring 2027.
- 85% of 1st grade students will be at or above benchmark on ALO Spring NWF/WWR, with at least 85% of students who score below or well below benchmark making typical or higher growth NFW/WWR, by Spring 2027.
- 100% of 1st grade SALTA students will be at or above benchmark on ALO Spring NWF/WWR, with at least 100% of students who score below or well below benchmark making typical or higher growth NFW/WWR, by Spring 2027.
- 80% of 2nd – 5th grade students will be at or above benchmark on ALO Spring ORF with at least 80% of students who score below or well below benchmark making typical or higher growth in composite pathway of progress, by Spring 2027.
- 100% of 2nd – 5th grade SALTA students will be at or above benchmark on ALO Spring ORF Accuracy with at least 100% of students who score below or well below benchmark making typical or higher growth in accuracy pathway of progress, by Spring 2027.
MATHEMATICS
- 80% of K – 5th grade students will reach mastery on end of unit assessments for math throughout the 2026-27 school year.
- 100% of 1st – 5th grade SALTA students will reach mastery on end of unit assessments for math throughout the 2026-27 school year.
SCIENCE
- 80% of 4th – 5th grade students will achieve proficient on RISE Science 2025
- 100% of 4th – 5th grade SALTA students will achieve proficient or highly proficient on RISE Science 2025
SCHOOL CLIMATE

85% of students on Student Risk Screening Scale will rank low in internalizing (emotionally flat, shy, sad, anxious, and lonely) behaviors category by May of 2027. Teachers will focus on teaching all students skills to cope with internalizing behaviors within the school setting.
