About Us

Sunrise Elementary School Snapshot
Sunrise Elementary School Eagles see themselves as learners who own their learning.  They know where they are now and where they need to go next to master skills.  Sunrise houses Canyons School District’s Gifted and Talented Program Supporting Advanced Learners Towards Achievement (SALTA).

Mission Statement:   Sunrise empowers a collaborative culture where all learners are problem solvers.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

  • 80% of K – 2nd grade students will show typical or better growth as measured by Acadience Reading Measures 2025
  • 80% of 3rd – 5th grade students will achieve proficient on RISE Language Arts 2025
  • 100% of 3rd – 5th grade SALTA students will achieve proficient or highly proficient on RISE Language Arts 2025

MATHEMATICS

  • 80% of K – 2nd grade students will show typical or better growth as measured by Acadience Mathematics Measures 2025
  • 80% of 3rd – 5th grade students will achieve proficient on RISE Mathematics 2025
  • 100% of 3rd – 5th grade SALTA students will achieve proficient or highly proficient on RISE Mathematics 2025

SCIENCE

  • 80% of 4th – 5th grade students will achieve proficient on RISE Science 2025
  • 100% of 4th – 5th grade SALTA students will achieve proficient or highly proficient on RISE Science 2025

SCHOOL CLIMATE

  • 80% of students on Student Risk Screening Scale will rank in low internalizing (emotionally flat, shy, sad, anxious, and lonely) behavior’s category by 2025.  Teachers will focus on teaching all students skills to cope with internalizing behaviors within the school setting.

  • 80% of students on Student Risk Screening Scale will rank in low externalizing (lying, cheating, and behavior problems) behavior’s category by 2025.  Teachers will focus on teaching all students skills to cope with externalizing behaviors within the school setting.
