Canyons Announces Locations for Free Summer Curbside Meal Service

To ensure children have access to nutritious meals while school is not in session, Canyons School District is proud to again be sponsoring a Summer Food Service program.

Twice-weekly, from June 1 through July 30, free meals will be distributed at curbside stations on the following campuses. All children, 18 years of age and under, are able to take advantage of the meals — not just Canyons students — and parents may pick up the meals without their children present.

Registration continues for Canyons Online, Canyons District’s powerful new online learning program.

Starting in fall 2021, Canyons Online will be the program through which high-quality online classes will be provided to third- through 12th-grade CSD students. Licensed teachers with advanced training in the best digital teaching and learning practices will lead classes in core subjects.

The application process recently opened and will remain open until enrollment reaches capacity, at which time applicants will be placed on a wait list.

It’s school library month! Check out these late-fee-free facts about Canyons District libraries.

Do you know how many libraries are located within the Canyons School District? Do you know how many items — books, textbooks, resources, equipment and other materials — are in those libraries? And how about this one: Without the help of your favorite search engine, name the author who said, “I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.”

Would it help if we gave a hint that the author was from Argentina?

If you answered one or more of those questions in the affirmative, congrats! You’re either a certified librarian or a certifiable bookworm. You’re probably even aware that April is School Library Month.

If you scratched your head and couldn’t answer the questions, don’t worry. Most of the rest of us couldn’t, either. But you’re in a good place — even better if you’re reading this from a library — to find answers to those questions and a several other interesting tidbits about libraries.
